Who Said Trucking Wasn’t Physical? A Day in Auto Transport

Corja & Blog

People see a car hauler rolling down the highway and might think the job is all about sitting behind the wheel.

Our drivers would probably disagree. ????

At Corja Auto Hauling, driving is only one part of the job. Auto transport is hands-on work from the moment a vehicle is picked up until the moment it reaches its destination.

Loading vehicles onto a multi-car hauler takes patience, experience, and sometimes a little more muscle than people expect. Drivers are constantly getting in and out of vehicles, climbing up and down the trailer, securing cars, checking equipment, adjusting decks, inspecting vehicles, and making sure everything is positioned correctly before getting back on the road.

Basically, who needs a gym membership when you haul cars for a living?

There’s More to Car Hauling Than Driving

Every vehicle is different. A low sports car can't always be approached the same way as an SUV, pickup truck, or everyday sedan. Weight, ground clearance, vehicle size, and placement on the trailer all matter.

An experienced auto transport driver has to determine how each vehicle should be loaded while keeping the entire load safe and properly balanced.

Once everything is loaded, the job isn't over. Vehicles must be properly secured and checked throughout the trip. Our drivers also have to navigate fuel stops, traffic, weather, tight pickup and delivery locations, and the challenges that come with operating a large car carrier.

Then it's time to unload everything — and sometimes start the process all over again.

The Work Behind Every Delivery

Customers usually see two moments: when we pick up their vehicle and when we deliver it.

What they don't always see is everything happening between those two moments.

Behind every successful vehicle delivery is a driver making inspections, checking securement, planning routes, communicating with dispatch, managing loading and unloading, and working to get every vehicle where it needs to go safely.

That's why professional auto transport requires more than simply knowing how to drive a truck.

It takes experience, attention to detail, patience, and yes… a little physical work too. ????????

Moving Vehicles Across the Country

Corja Auto Hauling provides professional vehicle transportation for customers, dealerships, businesses, and others needing reliable auto transport.

Whether we're moving a single vehicle or transporting multiple vehicles as part of a larger load, our goal remains the same: safe pickup, professional transportation, and dependable delivery.

So the next time you see one of our car haulers rolling down the highway loaded with vehicles, remember — the driver probably already got their workout in before you even saw them.
